Transforming Genealogy Research with Innovative Hands-On Touch Table Experiences

Project

Crossroads Discovery Center

Year

2023

At the Crossroads Discovery Center within the Hamilton East Public Library in Noblesville, IN, I managed the production of interactive exhibits designed to make genealogy research and oral history recording accessible and engaging. I oversaw the development of innovative touch table experiences, allowing visitors to scan reproductions of historical records and piece together compelling local narratives. I also guided the creation of a dynamic digital timeline that juxtaposes local Hamilton County history with significant national and global events, built with an intuitive Content Management System enabling easy updates by library staff.

Additionally, I coordinated the design and production of an interactive recording booth, empowering visitors to capture and share their personal oral histories, and managed the integration of an Ancestry.com research kiosk. My role included closely collaborating with exhibit fabricators and AV integrators Solomon Group, ensuring seamless technical integration and optimal user experience.

My leadership on this project demonstrated my ability to blend interactive storytelling, accessible technology, and historical education to create engaging, memorable visitor experiences that foster deeper community connections and personal discovery.
